Kali

ABM: What is your stage name?

Kali: Kali

ABM: Where are you from, and what was it like growing up there?

Kali: I’m from Grass Valley, California. It was cool, it’s a crazy little town with a lot of weed. Hahah

ABM: Tell us about your legal case and how it has impacted your future decisions?

Kali: Man, I was locked up for kidnaping, and 6 other serious charges. I don’t feel the need to name them all. It impacted my life tremendously. When I got out I would make Jokes like “I’m scared straight”, not because jail was scary, but because I never wanted to be away from my son or family ever again. It was a really humbling experience, it honestly made me a better person all together. I got out and became a drug and alcohol counselor. I did a 180 and now I am helping people that are released from prison and jail at an inpatient rehab.

ABM: How long were you inside fighting your case?

Kali: I got 2 years time served, then I got a 8 year suspended sentence. Was fighting my case for a total of 3 years. Spent over 100 grand on lawyer fees and bail money. It was a joke. My bail was 1 million dollars before they lowered it after pre-trial. The whole time I was in there they were telling me I was getting a life sentence.

ABM: What are your last full length releases people can go check out right now?

Kali: I got a song and music video out right now with Lil Slugg and Lula, it just dropped.

ABM: What are you currently working on?

Kali: I’m currently working on a mixtape with features from Lil Slugg, Lula, Macacy, and 2HK.

ABM: What’s your next visual you plan on releasing, tell us about it.

Kali: I’m working on a song with features from Macacy and Joseph Kay from Livewire and we’ll be shooting a video soon for it.

ABM: Is there any artists you would like to work with in the future?

Kali: I’d love to work with Anonymous that dude he’s not very known but if you haven’t heard his shit look him up on YouTube. He’s my dude. If I could bring pac back I would love to work with him. Haha.

ABM: Any business ventures you wanna tell the public about?

Kali: I’m trying to blow the fuck up at whatever I do. I wanna be a good mom, buy some houses, travel, you know everyone’s dream.

ABM: Where can people find you online?

Kali: If you type into YouTube “Layla Callahan” And you’ll find my channel.

ABM: Any last words?

Kali: Just wanna say that material shit doesn’t matter it all comes and goes. The real things that matter in life are family and the memories you make with them. That shit lasts a lifetime, you can’t hit the block make some bread and buy memories and that’s facts. And just wanna say thank you to everyone that has supported me through all the bullshit. There’s a lot of hate out there and I’m lucky to have a solid team on my side.
