Today I’m thankful to say we live in an era where neighborhoods and certain blocks can unify for a greater good like community and prosperity. With a co-sign cameo from Oakland’s Mistah Fab and some candy drippin’ classics in front a Nipsey mural the viewer gets a lot of classic content out of co-director’s Stone and Norberto Garcia (@norbertogarcianava). Thanks to trailblazers like Nipsey Hu$$le, Tupac, and the ambassador (@e40) himself, this hook really had me in the right vibe for a December quarantine. J Stone got more on the way after this collab so stay ready.

Infamous Taz is an upcoming East Oakland native artist who resides in Pittsburg, CA. Read up on how he started making music, living in Pittsburg, and his background.

ABM: What is your Rap name? Tell us the story behind your hip-hop name?

Infamous Taz: I go by the alias Infamous Taz. My name derived from my childhood; my family would always compare me to the “Tasmanian Devil” character from the Looney Tunes show because of the way I would tear up the house and how hyperactive I was as a child. So my brother gave me the name “Taz” and it was a name that stuck with me throughout my life since the third grade. But when I began rapping and taking music seriously I had first added a long prefix to my name and went under the alias “Da Infamous Lil Taz”, which was inspired by Nas’ old rap name “Nasty Nas”. But for most people my name was too long to remember and when people referred to me my name was always shortened to “Infamous Taz”. So I decided to change my name to that so the listeners would always remember me when they heard my music

ABM: Has anything happened in your life that led to the decision of becoming a musician?

Infamous Taz: When I was younger I had played football for the majority of my life as a child, all the way up to my adolescent years, and had first aspired to play in the NFL one day. But what changed my aspirations was me being influenced by music my whole life. As an infant when I stayed in Oakland, my mom would always have me riding around with her in my car seat listening to artist like 2pac, Scarface, E40, Dmx, etc. When I moved to Pittsburg and I stayed at my Auntie’s house, my Uncle would always have his band in the garage and I would watch them play live music by artist like Cameo, The Brothers Johnson, Parliament, Prince, The Gap Band, etc. Even on the way to my games he’d play music by those kinds of artists in the car. So once I got to my tenth grade year in high school, my life was taking a turn for the worst at the time and I realized that football couldn’t give me that peace of mind that I was seeking. The only thing that brought me true tranquility was being in the studio. Once I realized that, I quit the team and began to put all my attention towards my art.

ABM: How did you get your start in the hip hop scene?

Infamous Taz: As an adolescent I was always an avid listener and supporter of the culture of Hip Hop. I mainly always listened to old school artist like Rakim, Public Enemy, and Treacherous 3; as well as listened to Bay Area artist like Mac Dre, Keak da Sneak, and The Pack. So at first when I rapped for fun, I’d either make raps that sounded a lot like 80s hip hop or the hyphy movement. But what made me serious about pursuing the rap scene was hearing the song “N.Y. State of Mind” by Nas. This song in particular made me realize that it was more than just a catchy line or talking about materialistic things but it was more about a message and getting your story across to the masses through lyricism. From there, I began to rap around my school, be in rap cyphers on the corner, and find anyone I knew that had a studio or knew someone who did to make my climb in the music world.

ABM: Where are you from, and what was it like growing up there?

Infamous Taz: I was originally born in East Oakland, but I was raised in Pittsburg, Ca. Growing up in Pittsburg, I ran into more trials and tribulations than I thought I would. My family moved out Oakland in the first place to look for a quiet city where we could find peace away from the street life, but we found the same thing in Pittsburg. I like to describe Pittsburg as “gentrified waste land” where everyone from all around Bay lives at because they were gentrified out of their hometowns. With that being said, affiliations and clicks are set up according to whose from a certain part of the Bay as well as a certain part of Pittsburg someone is from if they were born there. A lot of my friends were involved in some sort of hustle, hard drug, or was just involved in street conflicts that usually started in another part of the bay and was finished in Pittsburg. A lot of those times I found myself in the middle of those situations, and considering the people that I was affiliated with it took a lot not to be reeled into their lifestyle.

ABM: What do you typically rap about?

Infamous Taz: I typically rap about just everyday life and what I see. I like to speak on topics that most people don’t talk about in their music but more so in everyday conversations. I also talk about the condition of my race and what we go through as a people as well as speaking of unity amongst my people. But most of all I mainly talk about my life experiences and what I’ve been through.

ABM: What are your last full length releases people can go check out right now?

Infamous Taz: My last full length release that I put out was my mixtape called “The Commodity” which is also my first and only full length project at the moment. This project explained my inclinations of being rich and famous for my profession as well as accentuated how I was broke at that time and how I wanted to be heard.

ABM: What are you currently working on?

Infamous Taz: Right now I’m currently working on more free singles and visuals for more people to gravitate towards while I prepare everything for my next upcoming project. This project is an 8 song EP titled “F.L.L EP: A Poet’s Story” and it’s still in the working process at the moment.

ABM: Whats your last visual release people can check out, tell us about it.

Infamous Taz: The last visuals that I’ve released recently are “3am In Oakland” with Leo (founder of Mercer Brotherhood) and “Summn Light” with members of my group (J.C.O.E) Swayze & Sleaze and they are both now available on YouTube. The video for “3am In Oakland” was shot in the section of West Oakland referred to as “The Bottoms” and gives you the gritty side of Oakland as well as shines a light on its revolutionary relevance. The video with J.C.O.E “Summn Light” gives you more of a 90s home video vibe, taking place in Pittsburg at a house party.

ABM: What is your ultimate goal at the end of your career?

Infamous Taz: What I hope to achieve by the end of my career is to be remembered as a poet, musician, and a businessman that spoke for change and brought change through music. I want to be able to give back to my people as well as be the example of success coming from the struggle.

ABM: How can people reach you?

Infamous Taz: You can reach me on Instagram and Twitter @liltazjcoe. You can also reach me on Facebook and find me on Soundcloud.

Richmond CA Artist Young Dedicated & Proper drops a potent four track EP titled “Welcome To The Wild Wild West”, which is also the lead single the project which gives ode to her upbringing and her pride of coming from the Wild Wild West.

The song is catchy and uptempo, and she gives praise to the legends Too Short and E40, and we would consider this a dope anthem! Another dope track is her Too Short inspired track “New Cocktales”, and her delivery and new twist give it a total club vibe!

Nyesha Nicole is a upcoming rapper out of Richmond, CA. She has toured throughout the Bay Area locally, and has a full on interview and a good read. Check her out!

ABM: Tell us the story behind your hip hop name?

Nyesha Nicole: My name Nyesha Nicole is my government my “Real” name (lol).I have grown to love my name because of the simple fact that over the years I have gotten thousands of compliments saying how beautiful it is. Ironically however, a lot of people try to persuade me to change my name. Of course, people don’t actually call me “Nyesha Nicole” yet (lol). I go by Nee-Nee, NeeDouble, Ny and you may hear me refer to myself in my music as Nascar, because I stay on the gas literally and metaphorically.

ABM: What got you involved in the hip hop scene?

Nyesha Nicole: I am in love with music, I have been all my life. I have been rapping since elementary school. I won best rap and poem at Coronado. I was aired on local television interviewing and to say my rap “Stay In School”.I knew then I had a gift, so I kept writing and rappin off and on. I did talent shows, played instruments, and I was a Bay Area Stepper. 2014 I joined IG and the rap movement on the Gram got me juiced to test my skills. I decided to go hard on a solo song and see what it do. I hit my bro Laroo for a beat line. He plugged me with Trax FDR. Bought the beat for “REAL”, wrote the hook first, came with three 16’s and started looking for a studio. Recorded with Ant Banks Aird Out Records, he plugged me mixed and mastered it. I hit Roo again for video plug, he referred me to Cassius. Roo got my video posted on Hip Hop AveTV You Tube. When my video hit 300,000 views I was hook, line and sinker.People start hollering at me like don’t stop, keep going, the world needs to hear this shit, you dope! They lit my fire! The Success Label/Point Proven Ent.Put me on with lab time. I jumped in the booth recorded six songs real quick and started featuring with Phantom on a beat from TC and beats from The Grump.Right now I got a hot beat from Just Quality and two fire beats from Smackz I’m working on dropping real soon.

ABM: Where are you from and what was it like growing up there?

Nyesha Nicole: I’m from Richmond California, growing up there was survival of the fittest. The streets are a war zone and hustle is mandatory. My family came to Cali from Texas so my roots have always been different. I had to build and outer shell to cope with the hard knock life and streets of “The Rich”. I grew up living with my grandma, my mommy and my brother. My dad has always been in and out the Feds since I was born, he getting out this year after doing 11years. By 24 I had lost my mommy and my grandma and a couple years later my brother was murdered in Richmond. I lost so much…my loved ones, that its bittersweet.

ABM: What do you typically rap about?

Nyesha Nicole: I typically rap about getting money, being Real, Solid, staying focused, female shit, love, things that are bothering me and things that I feel people need to know.

ABM: What inspires you to be an artist? Who are your early influences?

Nyesha Nicole: What really inspires me is listening to music! When I hear a good song I feel it so deeply and it does so much for my soul its healing. WhenI hear beats that go crazy I want to write to it. Every artist from the Bay moving inspires me to keep pushin! My early influences are Too Short, E40, MacDre, Tupac, Hot Boys, Trina, Lil Kim, C.I.N., Philthy Phil. Today I am inspired mostly by Nicki Minaj and Dej Loaf, have me ready to go jump in the booth!
What are your last full length releases people can go check out right now?

ABM: What was your last release?

Nyesha Nicole: My last full length releases you can go slap right now just dropped in April are “Worth Whatever” and “Who’s Gonna Stop Me” on Proxclusiv Media You Tube channel. My video “Real” you can watch on Hip Hop Ave TV YouTube channel. My sound cloud got everything on there its clappin’!

ABM: What is your artist name? Tell us the story behind your hip-hop name?

TiffaneLove: Tiffane Love, I have tons of meanings and reasons be hide the name. I am 2 steps ahead of people when it comes to the name. People think the name represents that I am a singer. They expect me to start singing because of the word Love, but instead I hit em with some flowz. And suddenly, their taken back by surprise. I am an artist so my job is to create and think outside of the box. The example Tupac gave for the meaning of Thug life, The (Hate) You Give Little Infants Fucks Everyone, or The Rose That Grew From Concrete. It is a prime example of what my name stands for. You must learn and know how to love yourself first and foremost before anything. I have seen and have endured a lot of hardships growing up and still am to this day especially as a black woman. We are looked down upon, prejudged, ignored and so on and so forth. I always knew I had a gift, I felt that I was special and I always felt once the world heard me and heard my story, I would forever be Loved. Whatever it may be that I felt I didn’t receive, one day it would finally come to me. I grew up seeing my mother struggle to support our family without our father in the household, she did one hell of a job if I must say. My mom and dad are both married to each other. Although my dad is incarcerated. My siblings and I have the same mom and same dad. Seeing the love and the strength my mom had for the family, created something special, A Star was created out of that upbringing Me, Tiffane Love, I am this loveable, goofy person but at the same time I am very strong and independent. I am not walking around pushing people around, being a bully, starting up crap, I am defending and speaking up for myself and speaking up for others who are too ashamed or fearful to speak up about their trials and tribulations. God chose me to be the voice.

ABM: Has anything happened in your life that led to the decision of becoming a musician?

TiffaneLove: As a kid, I would make up a lot of my own songs, and would sing them while bathing. I would write funny stories for my classmates and would have the entire class cracking up. I was inspired by Tupac after I went into my older brother’s room while he was not there and I would take certain rap CDs of his. I’d put them back after just how I found them, Haha. Some of the 2pac CDs he never got back and he would wonder what happened to his CDs, He was livid! I would listen to Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, NWA., I loved Spice Girls, and Britney Spears, just to name a few. As a kid, I related to Tupac the most.. I was always quiet, like a deep thinker about things. But I loved to laugh, I laughed about everything! I had somewhat of a bubbly personality, even though some of my hardships tried to dim it. I began to stay to myself a lot of the time, once I began to see how much drama and trouble came to me by being around a lot of people especially people who did not have my best interest at heart. I was less fortunate, and skinny so people would pick on me a lot. I expressed how I truly felt through music and poetry.

ABM: How did you get your start in the hip hop scene?

TiffaneLove: Well, I started taking rap serious at the age of 16…I went by the name Young Felony. I connected with Mike Mosely; I did an interview with Xplosive Magazine. Mike discovered E40, B-Legit, TQ, C-BO, CellyCel and has worked with Tupac on pretty much every single album of his including All Eyez On Me, and Me Against the World to name a few. Mike seen my talent and knew I was destined to be a star. In fact, Mike would call me The Female Tupac, DJ King Assassin also gave me a shout out on his Makaveli The Don, (The Way He Wanted It) Mixtape as The Female Pac in 2007. I met and chopped it up with E40, He signed my first ever release, Heart Of A Lion released in 2005. I also had an article written on me by The Oakland Globe Newspaper in 2007 highlighting my single “Got Em Lookin”. Ive had my song “Imma Boss” featured on a Bizzy Bone’s Unsigned Hype compilation in 2008, Bizzy Bone is a member of the group Bone Thugz and Harmony. I’ve been building a career for quite some time now, but some people are not aware of that because of my stage name change, they think I am just now starting out.

ABM: Where are you from, and what was it like growing up there?

TiffaneLove: The 707, Fairfield, CA and Vacaville, CA, My Dad was transferred to the prison out in Vacaville. That is one reason my mom moved up there. My family is originally from the Los Angeles area. South Central, Compton, Carson areas. People think Vacaville is some nice ass town, in most parts yeah, but there is tons of trouble there also. Killings, robberies, drug activity, gang activity, and racial profiling ect. I had a very rough time growing up out there, being black, and less fortunate than most people who were coming from privileged families. I felt left out. I was teased and picked on a lot. I knew a bunch of people, I had a lot of friends, but most of the friendships were not genuine and led me into a lot of unwarranted trouble. My mom had me involved in cheerleading, gymnastics and track & field as a child, so I wanted to continue those paths in jr high and high school. I made the cheer team in 9th grade but had to sit out during practice and during the games because I did not maintain my grades at average or above so basically, I was labeled a failure and began hanging with the wrong crowd. That’s when I really began to write music and poetry, my first ever release” Heart Of A Lion” released in 2005 reflects the pain and hurt I endured during such times. My life was hard in every sense of the word. I feel like now that I am performing as an Artist I am making up for what I did not get a chance to do while in my teen years. I have always been very competitive even as a kid. I was a very fast runner, I did track & field, and all the boys would challenge me. So, still to this day it reflects me as a person. I am still hanging with the boys, we all know the rap world is male dominated.

ABM: What artists have you worked with? Who would you like to work with?

TiffaneLove: I have done a lot of live shows with tons of artist, too many to name. I’ve opened for, HD of Bearfaced, J Stalin, Mike Sherm, Ap9, to name a few. I am planning to make my next project solely collaborations with other upcoming and well-known artists. I’ve been building myself as a solo artist, building my own wave, being as original, independent and as ready as I can be as I start to get deeper into the music world. Its all about leveling up. And making sure that YOU by yourself have a solid foundation to stand on, a strong backbone and knowledge of the game and knowledge of the business-side of things. I think a collaboration between me and Mozzy would be dope as fuck, Cellyru, E40, Drake, Ice Cube. I think teaming up with other female rappers would be dope also, we are on the rise right now.

ABM: When are you dropping your next release?

TiffaneLove: I just released my newest project One Woman Army on 03/30/2017. Its available on CDbaby, Soundcloud, Audiomack, and will become available on many other websites and retailers such as Spinrilla Spotify, Googleplay, Itunes, Pandora, ect

ABM: Whats your last visual release people can check out, tell us about it.

TiffaneLove: My last visual was for my my single Act Up, I gets tons of love on it but at the same time, I get a hater or two once in a blue moon. It is what it is . I am gonna to continue to do what I gotta do. The song is basically telling anyone who is coming at me disrespectful, to back up before I act up, I am not the aggressor in the song. I am defending myself against those who may like to put women down and try to keep women down. Or those who are just flat-out troublemakers. The video is on youtube just search Tiffane Love “Act Up” you will run into it.

ABM: What is your ultimate goal at the end of your career?

TiffaneLove: I would like to continue to get my voice heard and respected because I truly have a message to deliver. I didn’t choose this. God has anointed me to do this. It is my calling. I am following wherever he leads me. If I blow up, it is destined, If I stay underground, it is destined, But I feel that I am meant to touch millions and billions of lives all over the world and at the end of my career I feel it will be accomplished. I will be very successful helping others to reach their goals and dreams.

ABM: Any business ventures or ideas you got in the works?

TiffaneLove: One thing I must stress is to make sure you have all your business dealings in writing. Keep record of text messages about the business dealings. Make sure there is contracts, paperwork involved, being signed. This is a shiesty game and people will try to get over on you or take advantage of you. Copyright all your work! I am about to drop 3 more visuals for my singles Woke Up, Like I Do and Stay Out Ya Feelins. I am in talks right now about going on tour with DJ Spazz”. I will release more information about that soon., DJ Spazz is the tour DJ for Coke boys, Coke boys were founded by French Montana. Dj Spazz is hosting my current release right now “One Woman Army” He is very professional and has never made me feel uncomfortable. As a woman in this industry you must carry yourself with self-respect, and pass up any opportunities if you feel disrespected or taken advantage of. GOD has something better in store for you. You don’t always have to be in the limelight or #1 all the time if it means you’re gonna be disrespected as a woman to be there. if you are in the limelight or #1 let it be because you truly earned it from your hard work.

ABM: Who is the most impactful artist in your life who has inspired you and why?

TiffaneLove: Obviously, Tupac Shakur, just because I feel we have similar upbringings and we both respond exactly alike to certain situations. Beyoncé, I love the message she sends that women can be just as or even more successful than a man. And you can be married and or be a mother and still have a career and be successful at it all.
