The video starts off displaying the statement, “While racial injustice keeps killing, society keeps looking away,” before fading onto a photo of Trayvon Martin. Under Martin’s photo, the caption reads, “Walking home from a store, Trayvon was profiled as a potential criminal by a neighbor armed with a gun, The man shot Trayvon dead. He was found not guilty.”

The treatment continues in the same manner showing black-and-white images of others killed by those who are sworn to protect and serve like Rekia Boyd, Marlon Brown, Ramarley Graham, Caesar Cruz and Sean Bell. All the while, the video forces to viewers to stay focused on the screen. If the viewer looks away for more than a second the video stops until they are back looking at the screen.

Usher will debut the song live at the Tidal X: 1020 concert on Oct. 20 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Arena. The star-studded show will benefit the New World Foundation and feature Beyoncé, Jay Z, Prince, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Meek Mill and others.

It’s no surprise Kanye had big plans for this month, releasing a shoe line under Adidas.  The line is titled, “Yeezy Season 1”, and was released February 14th  for the residents of NYC and will launch worldwide on February 28th.

Kanye debuted the shoe line in a similar way to Jay-Z‘s album, Magna Carta, and will be showcasing a runway show in select cities that mimics the commercial that was released on valentines day.

Kanye’s goals are to create “wearable art” that will eventually give everyone the chance to own a pair.  Kanye also wants to push the fashion world to move towards more open markets and a culturally diverse industry.  He is exposing the sad truth about our nation’s fashion world and is taking matters into his own hands now to inspire artists like him.

In the commercial Kanye says,

“We have been limited. It’s bigger than who I am. It’s about when I was on earth, what did I do to help? I want people to feel like it’s OK to create and follow what their dreams are and not feel boxed in. I want people to feel like awesome is possible. There’s a lack of creativity in every field because people are afraid. As an artist and in this world, we can do whatever we want.”

“The Plaintiff, Dr. Francois de Cassagnol, filed a pro se complaint with the Eastern District of the State of New York on December 9, 2013, asking for a juried trial over the matter — and $600 million in damages, at least. According to court documents obtained by Radar, de Cassagnol claims that the NBA, Jay Z, and developer Bruce Ratner ”fraudulently conspired” to use “loopholes” in the U.S. Patent Office so that they could use a term he says he registered more than ten years ago.

Indeed, documents submitted as evidence show that de Cassagnol filed applications in 2012 for “The Brooklyn Nets Entertainment Logo,” which was first used in the State of Louisiana back in 2003. He even claims that before the team moved to Brooklyn, he spoke with officials at the New Jersey Nets organization and the NBA who assured him that the team would not use the term “Brooklyn Nets,” but would most likely opt for “New York Nets.” Unfortunately, he claims, “It was pure mismanagement of the facts.” In 2012, the team announced they would go by the name “Brooklyn Nets,” and ever since, de Cassagnol has been enmeshed in a legal struggle trying to get what he says is his due.”

After a few sneak peeks, a finalized tracklisting for Jigga’s highly anticipated solo effort is now available. After getting the initial tracklist last week, the full tracklist, along with featured artists, has been officially released for Jay-Z’s upcoming Magna Carta Holy Grail album. As shown below, guests include Rick Ross, Beyonce, Frank Ocean, and Justin Timberlake. Magna Carta Holy Grail drops July 4th to one million Samsung Galaxy users, with a official date of July 7th for everyone else.

Contributing producer Swizz Beatz gave fans an idea of what to expect this time around.

“Fans” always want to go back to the classics. You always have that hunger of ‘Man, why didn’t he didn’t he just… Man, he’s supposed to…’ It’s always going to be that. For the first time in a long time I think someone solved that problem. He did that with this album.”

Last weekend, the solo effort’s tracklisting revealed Magna Carta Holy Grail would have thirteen records. In Brooklyn, Jay-Z fans went on a scavenger hunt, and were handed binders containing the tracklist to Magna Carta Holy Grail. No word on features, but known producers include: Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, Rick Rubin, and Pharrell. Album drops downloads on July 4th. Well now we have it here for you.

Jay-Z announced the news through a Samsung commerical which played during tonight’s (June 16) NBA Finals Game 5 (Miami Heat vs. San Antonio Spurs). In the three-minute ad, Jay-Z is seen recording and brainstorming in the studio with Rick Rubin, Pharrell Williams, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz. “The album is about, like this duality of how do you navigate through this whole thing, through success, through failures, through all this and remain yourself,” he tells Rubin of his twelfth studio album.

“Magna Carta Holy Grail” will be available for free download on July 4, 12:01 a.m. EST, to the first one million Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy S 4 and Galaxy Note II users. Fans will be able to unlock the album on the phone’s Magna Carta app.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Samsung paid $5.00 a piece for the 1 million copies that will be distributed to Samsung users. The kick off to Jay-Z’s album roll-out is similar to Beyoncé’s. Queen Bey’ previewed new material through commercials: Pepsi (“Grown Woman”) and H&M (“Standing On the Sun”). Jay-Z has been seen in the studio with Drake, Timbaland, Nas, Pharrell and Justin Timberlake. In April, The-Dream hinted on an upcoming album from Hov when talking to Hot 97. “Jay’s coming along pretty good; I don’t know if I can say that yet,” he told Hot 97’s Angie Martinez.
