First, the positive: Nicki Minaj, looking stunning in a tight gold dress, won the Moonman for best Hip-hop video for “Anaconda.” After sincerely thanking her fans and also — randomly — her pastor, Minaj kicked it back to host Cyrus by saying, “Now, back to this b—h that had a lot to say about me in the press the other day….Miley what’s good?”

Minaj was referring to Cyrus’ interview with the New York Times this week where she seemed to diss Minaj by saying that Minaj’s remarks about race in the Video of the Year category were “very Nicki Minaj,” whom she described as “not too kind” and “not very polite…I think there’s a way you speak to people with openness and love. You don’t have to start this pop star against pop star war,” Cyrus explained at the time.

Up until this moment, neither woman had said anything else about it.

Cyrus, for her part, didn’t seem all that flustered about being called out by Minaj. To not getting a VMA, Cyrus smartly snapped, “It was no big deal! I persevered!” and also noted, “We’re all in this industry, we’ve both done interviews, we know how they manipulate s–t.” She then congratulated Nicki on her award and kept rolling, while the camera showed Minaj still appearing to angrily yell at Cyrus while Cyrus continued on with the show.

Nicki Minaj may have buried the hatchet with Taylor Swift earlier in the evening, but she’s not taking Cyrus’ remarks sitting down. Stay tuned?

The contest is judged based off of the amount of shares and views the videos get throughout social media platforms.  The only instructions are to show him why you deserve the money even if your best way to show that is through twerking.  Twerking just was recently added to the Oxford English Dictionary saying “Twerk” means “dance to popular music in a sexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements and a low, squatting stance.”. It seems they have decided to put this word in the dictionary after Miley Cyrus used it to gain popularity as long as others like Juicy J too.

Juicy J’s song with A$AP Rocky must have sparked the idea, the track is titled “Scholarship” and he tells everyone to get inspiration from his new album.  He recently also promoted his album through giving a streamed version of his album to people who could throw bands on a stripper.  This idea is gaining him some respect for giving someone a really good opportunity to change their life, even if it is for twerking.

Both performances were respectable and a new era for Kanye at the VMA’s after previous shocking performances.  This was Kanye’s seventh VMA’s performance, tying with Modanna for the most performances for an artist.
