San Jose's Traxamillion is one of the Bay Area's forefront producers in the industry, making hit records for local acts like Keak Da Sneak, The Jacka, The Hoodstarz, Too Short, to name a few. He has a couple big projects coming, so read up and be aware.
ABM: How did you get your name, Traxamillion?
Traxamillion: A childhood friend, we used to rap, one day he was like "Yo you should be Traxamillion" and a couple weeks later I tried it in a rap and I liked it and it stuck. It was kind of a new personality for me.
ABM: What started the music journey?
Traxamillion: My grandmother got me a keyboard at 12, and before that I would mess with mom's and pop's old school stereo. Music has been in my life since I was young and it's been a natural progression since the time I was a kid.
ABM: One of your stand out songs "Glamourous Lifestyle", can you tell us a little about how that came about?
Traxamillion: I did a remix for E-40/Too Short called "This my one" and I used a drum pattern on that beat, but I took those same drums and played around with some piano sounds. I was at my moms at the time just messing around with the drums at the time and I just kinda re-vamped the beat up and made it more full.
ABM: Lets fast forward to today, your new project "Tech Boom", tell us about that?
Traxamillion: Tech Boom is my baby. This is my brainstorm and my attempt to bring my home city San Jose into the music loop. Even being from San Jose, I changed the face of bay area music and this is my way to try to help others from San Jose get out there and get noticed.
ABM: What are some of the names of the new artists that are going to be on the project?
Traxamillion: Ziggy, Maleah, Karina, Blessed, 8 0 from 454, a latin group out of San Jose as well. I'm trying to set the bar and set the standard for San Jose Music with this project.
ABM: What do you see some of the lead singles being?
Traxamillion: "Move right now" by Flammy Marciano, its a street and club record at the same time. There are two songs that I'm on which will be on the new project, they're called "Own Zone" and "Dope Dealer".
ABM: I hear you have another project coming up?
Traxamillion: Yeah, its called the "Trap Addict". This is just me doing my thing and going crazy on the album.
ABM: Can people still book you for DJ?
Traxamillion: Yeah of course, slapaddictLLC@gmail.com. If you havent seen me DJ, come out its always wild, and a show to see. You got the girls drinking on stage, and you know I only play slappin beats.
ABM: What is the Traxpad, can you tell us a little about that?
Traxamillion: Yeah, it was a video game on the PS2 where you can make beats. It was one of the first beat games that had a smooth interface and it was dope.
