San Quinn — “89” EP

Produced by Livin Proof · editorial by @itsLivinProof

Coming fresh off of his "Fillmore Lion" album, San Quinn and I teamed up to create a sure classic, "89" the EP. The project is full of quaking beats and baritone vocals courtesy of The Almighty Quinn. Interludes and concepts from live footage audio take the listener back to 1989, when dope boys ran the streets, and terror filled the area from the 7.1 earthquake that devastated San Francisco.

Tracks like the hard hitting opener "89" featuring Bailey, give you the feel of the earthquake all over again as actual 911 calls accent the song beginning to end. The project consists of guest features from Keak Da Sneak, Yukmouth, Boo Banga, Shady Nate, Mistah Fab, Beeda Weeda, J Mitch, Bailey and more. From start to finish you can expect Quinn to deliver at his best, aint no half steppin in his reppin.

The young OG from Planet Fillmore is ready to make his mark again and claim his spot on radio waves with the up beat single, "Do You", featuring Mickey Shiloh and Baby Bash. Mickey blesses the hook, she has her own unique sound that sets her apart from other vocalists. She's known mostly in the Bay for lacing the hook on the hit single "Windows" by Keak Da Sneak and Jacka. When Quinn layed his verse, all I could hear was Mickey on the hook and Bash on the second verse. Big ups to Primo for making everything run smooth and staying tapped in throughout the whole process.

Boo Banga co-stars on another "89" fasho slapper, "Pockets Got The Knots". Quinn holds it down on the first and second verse while Banga gives you a taste of that 3rd World on the third verse. One of my personal favorites from the album is "Money Don't Make You Real" featuring Mistah Fab, Shady Nate, and Einerbankz's instrumentation on the strings. "89" wouldn't be complete without a real life, heartfelt, track that you can roll a blunt and vibe out to. All three emcees individually touch on the struggle and the ups and downs of life, personal and career wise.

Make sure you check out "89" the EP, we bout to shake it up on everybody sleeping on the city's real mayor. Shout out Quinn, Primo, and all of the artists that contributed.
