Since everyone’s literally on lockdown, quarantined and stuck in their houses with a whole lot of time on their hands; you should put your phones down, turn the TV off and be captivated by one or all three of these coveted novels, which were written by:
All Bay Music’s own: COO, Stone Ramsey (one of the best authors coming out of the Bay Area) and co-authored by Bay Area Hip Hop Legends; Charles “Keak Da Sneak” Williams and Dope Era’s own, Stanley “Mistah Fab” Cox. “Yadamean Bay Bizness I & II,” & “Warrior,” are must reads and Stone managed to bring hip hop and urban literature under one umbrella.
Stone Ramsey spent 16 years in prison, 5 of which were in solitary confinement. During the time he spent in solitary confinement, he wrote 7 novels; including a book of poems, called “If My Soul Had Tattoos.” He published 3 of the 7, upon his release in 2013.
Ramsey is the first known Author to combine Hip Hop and Urban Literature. He grabs the attention of his readers by relating and connecting to them with his content, while also making it current, relevant and interesting to people of all ages and hues.
“Yadamean Bay Bizness” is an #1 underground bestseller about the secret teachings of successful street hustlin’ which are broken down piece by piece and bestowed upon Omari “Askari” Jenkins.
“Warrior” is about Preston Gordon who emerged from prison, inside of him a new soul and man. Now before him lies a war in the gun slinging, streets of Oakland, California… Armed with two manuscripts he’d painstakingly penned, during his prison sentence, “Intelligence is the New Gun, “BANG-BANG!””
These books are the definition of what Hip-Hop/Street(urban) literature is all about. Once you open one and get a taste, it’s like Pringles or Lays; you won’t be able to stop turning the page. Not only is it entertaining, but educational, sensual and pure comedy. If you ask me these would definitely be the books on the top of my list to read, during these times. You won’t be disappointed.
