ABM- How did you get the name K Loc?
K Loc- K-loc is name I grew up with since I was a child, my mom, family , the neighborhood! I just inherited it…matter of fact (K-Loc) was the first tattoo I ever put on my body, I was 13 years old then. It just grew and stuck with me.
ABM- What inspires you to make your music?
K Loc- The way I feel… Trials & tribulations of my life… Personal issues ..the vibe, pain & love .. all those feelings that I might be feeling at a point in time. When we first started pursuing music it was a way to put some shine on are block and a way to put our city on! As we grow with the music it became a culture of our everyday lifestyle, this is what we do! We make good music.
ABM- Best memory in the music industry?
K Loc- My best memory was when the Tone Bone produced single "Scrapin" first got played on 106.1 KMEL! The Jacka was doing his in-store at the Berkeley Rasputin's for the Jack Artist album…We were all there! KMEL played the song and had gotten so many phone calls and requests, that they played it back to back to back!! It was a feeling that was unexplainable! It felt like hard work was finally paying off!! Shoutout to KMEL for breaking that song & showing support ..It's been on and cracking ever since for us! It was a blessing!
ABM- Who are some of the artists you've worked with?
K Loc- The Jacka , Husalah, Ridah J Klyde, Spice-1, Clyde Carson , Keak da Sneak, Turf Talk, Slim da Mobsta, The Dragons, Cellski, Johnny Cash (r.i.p) Pretty Black (r.i.p) , Dubee, J-Diggs, Yukmouth, J Stalin, Agerman, Mistah Fab, The Whole Thizz Camp!! I could go on forever ..shit!! There ain't to many artist we haven't worked with…
ABM- What are you currently working on?
K Loc- Right now were wrapping up this new Gorilla Pits album titled "ANOTHER DAY GP4" The album features Philthy Rich , Hoodstarz, Clyde Carson , Roccett and many more! I also got a solo album in the works and a solo street album in the works. I'm gonna leak the street album first before the actual album. THE MONSTA SQUAD is what we've been pushing for the last year or so …it's the album that we did with The Dragons … We also just started to leak promo for the "Another Day" album . We also started pushing the album The Dragons got with Yukmouth called "DRAGON DYNASTY".
